Takahiro Bessho's Lightroom presets: 2 types, "Ano-Ume" and "Ano-Metaseko"

Two Lightroom presets from photographer Takahiro Bessho, who captures the scenic beauty of the four seasons. "Ano-Ume" captures the emotion felt when seeing weeping plum blossoms, boldly cutting out other colors to concentrate on the plum's hue. Designed with backlighting in mind, the goal was to create a finished image that could be completed with just this preset. "Ano-Metaseko" features colors that faithfully reproduce the impression of metasequoia trees shining in the golden light of morning. Both presets incorporate the retouching techniques used in his signature works.

*Each preset contains files in two formats: "dng" and "xmp".

" I've decided to finally offer presets for sale, something I've stubbornly refused to do until now. They're called Ano Ume and Ano Metaseko. Both presets contain the retouching techniques I use in my signature works. They're not like a delicious broth; they're more like a powerful spice that could potentially shatter the entire atmosphere of a photo. However, they also have a surprisingly versatile and flavorful side, like "devil's powder," that goes well with any plum or any metasequoia. Please try sprinkling them on your photos when the respective seasons arrive.

Preset ① "Ano-Ume"

"Most of my plum blossom photos start with applying this preset. It captures the emotion I felt when I saw weeping plum blossoms. I boldly cut out other colors to focus on the plum blossom's color. It's basically designed for backlighting, but if you're using it in front of the light, please adjust the exposure, shadows, and white balance. This preset is so convenient that you can pretty much complete a plum blossom photo with just this one preset."

Preset ② "Ano-Metaseko"

"More than 10 years ago, my real career began with this photograph. Metasequoia trees would appear orange in daylight, but that day, after a winter storm, I was so moved by the sight of the Metasequoias shining in the golden morning light that I tried to reproduce that impression as faithfully as possible. This is the color that resulted. Even now, when I photograph Metasequoias in the morning, I start my development process by applying this preset."
